NewsNew Volunteer Tool Launching in October

Think of this new tool (called HelpRoot) as a "meeting place for meeting needs" – whether those needs are internal to your church or organization, within your own community or elsewhere in the world. This is a tool that goes beyond telling and showing your community how much you care. It helps you live it out.

When helproot.com launches in early October, you'll see it in your Control Panel as the HelpRoot Volunteer manager*.  And here's how your church or organization can participate:

Serving Those in Your Community
When someone is in need or knows of a need, they can visit your church website (or helproot.com) and post the need. Those posts can then be reviewed by you (and other organizations if posted to helproot.com).

Before anyone can volunteer for a posted need, it must have a Sponsor. A Sponsor is an organization (like yours) that can validate the need, organize the efforts, gather a team of volunteers, and then fulfill the need. A few good examples of using HelpRoot in the community would be helping with disaster relief, feeding families, filling community shelter needs, repairing homes, or organizing community improvement projects.

Whether or not your church is already involved with community efforts, HelpRoot offers a built-in solution to making those efforts more efficient and gives you the ability to grow your capacity – serving in more ways than you are now.

Serving Needs Within Your Church or Organization
Similarly, you can create a post to fulfill an internal need. Organizations that add their own needs also sponsor them. Opportunities to volunteer for those needs can then be viewed by church members only (for example) or publicly posted on your website. When a potential volunteer sees the need and applies to help, you (the Sponsor) can choose whether or not to assign the volunteer. A good example of using HelpRoot internally is for filling ongoing volunteer positions like Sunday School workers or with special events like dramas, concerts and dinners.

We're very pleased that churches and organizations already using E-zekiel all over the world will be able to put HelpRoot to work soon. To learn more about HelpRoot before it’s released, visit www.helproot.com/about
